This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I mean, I'm twenty-two with a rap sheet longer than my left arm and a very powerful and rich man is standing in front of me offering me the chance at my dream job.
“What's the catch?”

Tabitha Knight is just getting out of a one year relationship that changed the woman she is; she may have loved her ex, but she did not like the person he turned her into. Now that she's free, she is determined to find her self again and cut loose, one alcohol hazed party is just the way to do it... until she wakes up the next morning and realizes she got more than she bargained for.

Erik Dashling is admittedly a little reckless and it has landed him in some trouble on more than one occasion. His latest stunt ends in jail and a job opportunity of a lifetime. A night of partying to celebrate his new path in life brings him face to face with the first woman to ever completely captivate him, and also the one woman who now holds his future in the palm of her hands. Now he must decide if following his heart is worth the risk of losing his once in a lifetime chance at a career he could only have dreamed of before now.

~I couldn't hide who I really am. I am a smart-mouthed witch who has anger issues and a right hook to prove it. If that meant I rolled around in the dirt with the ones he considered scum, then call me the flucking queen of the scum world.~

I knew going into this that it was the start of a new series, that alone should have prepared me for the epic friggin cliffhanger... I wasn't. I totally dropped the ball on this one so I feel it's only right that I warn others. That's not to say you should pass on this book, just be prepared for a little screaming at the end and not the fun, lust induced variety.
Now that my cliffy rant is out of my system, let me just say ~ READ THIS BOOK!! It's a relatively short read, it is a novella after all, and with that we always run the risk of not having enough time to really get to know our characters but that wasn't the case here. The author had no problem fully submerging us into their lives in the little bit of time that we had. These two were wicked hott together, sexy as hell, and funny too; it was an awesome combination, although Tabitha did show some frustrating stubbornness a few times, but I got where she was coming from-she was recently burned and acted accordingly. Now Dash... oohhh I LOVE that man! He doesn't know what it means to give up, he goes after what he wants and won't take no for an answer~he will wickedly seduce a yes out of you weather you want to or not, he may be confused by the feelings Tabitha is bringing out of him but he doesn't run away from them which is a nice change of pace. But damn that ending~seriously dude, WTF am I supposed to do with that?! I can assure you I will be monkey climbing the walls til the next installment comes out. As sadistic as Shantel Tessier has proved herself to be, she has still secured her spot on my One-Click Addiction list with this man... I mean book ;)

I don't know what it is that I feel exactly for her besides lust. But something else is there. I'm not saying I love her or that I want to run off and get married tomorrow. But I do want us to spend a couple of days in my bed and get to know each other better.

DASH is one sexy roller coaster ride. It is told in a dual POV and we get to see Tabatha's and Dash's sides. I love when I read a book in dual POV because you get each person's thoughts and you get to see the pain or the happiness they are feeling right at that moment. I love it as a reader because there are times when I am reading and I am like what is that person thinking. Shantel is a wonderful author and I have loved all that I have read from her. Her writing is amazing, and no matter the story or genre, Shantel has the ability to build a strong and great connection to her characters. She could write a color book and I would still think it's amazing!

This is just the book I needed to read right now; bad boy biker with a big heart who is super sexy, plus a feisty single lady fighting to be independent. I hate cliffhangers but it makes me excited for the next books.
Erik Dashling 'Dash' is a reckless bad boy who is has been in trouble with the law a time or two; speeding and just being reckless. When he is booked into jail for speeding and not pulling over for the police, he thinks this may be the time his father will not be able to bail him out. Instead, he gets the opportunity of a lifetime of his dream job racing motorcycles, something he is very good at.
To celebrate his new job he throws a party and meets Tabatha Knight. Dash has one look at Tabatha and knows she is going to be his girl. He will do anything in his power to have her. Tabatha and Dash have a sexy one night stand and she plans to never see Dash again...until she sees him the next day at her house. Dash's new boss is Tabatha's father. Tabatha is recently single from a toxic relationship. She wants to enjoy being single and free from her ex. She does not want anyone in her way until she has her head on straight and gets over her overprotective crazy ex. Dash has other plans for her and he plans to keep her around for awhile.

I'd recommend this book to anyone looking for a fast steamy read. I can't wait for the next book in this series!

4 1/2 STARS! CAN'T WAIT FOR VOLUME 2!

I am a huge fan of Shantel Tessier's Undescribable series, so of course I was super excited for a new novella series with her. New characters, with new backgrounds and of course hot sex (since Shantel is known to write some HOT scenes)! And DASH definitely does not disappoint! This is a short novella that will definitely leave you wanting more.

"I look down to the speedometer on my bike and see that I'm doing ninety-two in a sixty-five. Fu**!"

Erik "Dash" Dashling is reckless. He lives life in the fast lane. Getting in trouble with the law for driving way too fast on his bike is just his newest addition to his driving record. But somehow Dash always figures a way out of it. Between his charm, money, and quick talking he usually finds himself getting away with it. This time is no different except someone has stepped in to help him and offered him the chance to race professionally, something he has always wanted. He just has to stop being so reckless off the track.

"I am a smart-mouthed bi**h who has anger issues and a right hook to prove it."

Tabitha Knight is that rich, privileged girl that everyone wishes they could be. But what most don't see is that she is a strong willed, smart mouthed woman who fell for the wrong guy and somewhere along the way lost who she is. And now she is convinced that she will never let that happen again. (I loved her, she has a backbone and I love that) Trying to have a good time and move on she decides to go to a party with her friend. What she didn't expect was to get plastered and wake up the next morning slowly realizing that she slept with someone at the party.

"Just my fu**ing luck! The girl I slept with at my party is the one and only Tabatha Knight. Mr. Knight’s daughter. My new boss!"

After a night of hot sex that leaves Dash knowing he wants to get to know that girl more, he gets up goes to his meeting with his new boss only to find out the girl he wants his Mr. Knights daughter. The passion and chemistry between them is hot, but is that enough to overcome the obstacles in their way? She is off limits for Dash, but she also needs him when her past comes looking to take her back. Can they find their way together, or will it sizzle out before it even begins?

Dash is fast paced from beginning to end, and when it ends be prepared to want more. This is a short novella and you will definitely be left wanting Volume 2… like NOW! I can't wait to see what is next for Dash and Tabitha.

A good introductory-level textbook on contamination control that that provides sufficient background knowledge for the lay person. Concepts were presented in a clear and concise manner. Could have been better if the book includes more diagrams and figures, though.

Grade 6-9?These biographies, with their bright, appealing covers, should attract readers. Lisandrelli draws heavily on Angelou's extensive autobiographical writings, but has also culled several other sources as well. Hurston, too, provides an evenhanded portrayal of a complex and unique woman. The major strengths of both books include an adequate representation of the subjects' lives, including both exemplary and the not-so-exemplary aspects. However, in Angelou especially, the abundance of footnotes may prove distracting. The practice is much less obtrusive in Hurston. Both authors offer honest portraits of strong African American women. Their hard work, optimism, perseverance, and belief in themselves offer inspiration to readers of either sex or any ethnic origin. Yannuzzi (Wilma Mankiller, 1994, not reviewed), awkwardly rehashing information better handled by one of her sources--Mary Lyons's Sorrow's Kitchen (1993)--seldom peeks below the surface of Hurston's checkered literary career and notably unstable private life. A luminary of the Harlem Renaissance, Hurston later became an enthusiastic collector of African-American tales, lore, and cultural practices--but, unable to hold on to money, friends, husbands, or benefactors, died in poverty and remained almost forgotten until the mid-1970s. Through a selection of telling incidents and brief quoted comments, Hurston's intelligence and strong personality come across, but her written work is passed over virtually unassessed in a dry recitation of titles and content summaries that reads like CIP notes. Yannuzzi does not explain how an author supposedly endowed with ``a big talent and a strong will to succeed'' met with such mixed reviews and produced so many rejected manuscripts; readers will come away with only vague ideas of the quality of Hurston's thought or writing. This may be more detailed than Patricia McKissack's shorter Zora Neale Hurston, Writer and Storyteller (1992), but it offers no further insight. It explores the career and life of this anthropologist and influential writer, spanning her entire life beginning with her childhood in Florida and concluding with her emergence as an author of significance. The book's illustrations are largely comprised of photographs of Hurston that allow the reader to build an increasingly complex image of this powerful African-American writer. This text pairs nicely with a study of Hurston's Their Eyes Were Watching God by providing biographical information about the author and a context for the novel.

Wow, I have never been so disappointed...

I don't normally write reviews for books but this was just inexcusable. I (a medical student) was using this book to study for my shelf exam in surgery and I couldn't believe how many mistakes there were in the answers section! Many of the explanations of the questions would clearly seem to say that the answer was, for example, (A) but then the answer listed would be (D). I assume these were all printing errors or something like that. Don't get me wrong, the explanations in this book are great and really helped, but it ended up taking me much longer than expected to go through the answers because I would really have to spend some time figuring out which answer was the REAL answer according to the explanation. And actually there was one explanation that was as far as I know completely wrong, but that may just be due to an outdated question.

In summary, really, with this being the 10th edition of Pretest Surgery, the number of errors in the answer section is really inexcusable. The book did help but I am sure there are other question books out there that may be better. While I generally like the pretest series, I would recommend waiting for the 11th Edition or get another book in this case. Using this book was just plain too annoying.

Look for new interactive palm version

Pretest now has standalone programs of the books (not the cumbersome pdf files). It is interactive in that it lets you choose your answer and gives you immediate feedback with right and wrong choices (no need flipping through pages), allows you to review missed answers, randomize questions and answer choices. Basically, it's a lot like qbank for third year. I used the palm version for surgery and loved it because I always had my palm with me and could do questions while I was waiting for an attending to finally scrub into a case. You'd be surprised at how small little bits of time add up! I finished pretest while only doing questions at the hospital in less than two weeks.

Too detailed of questions, but the explanations atone for it

Although the questions sometimes get too detailed for purposes of Step 2 - type exams, the explanations are excellent and tend to cover more basic facts. This atones for the occasional question that states, "current research states ..." and puts it in the grasp of most medical students. This is a good book to cover (or at least sample) if you are taking NBMLE shelf exams.

I had a chance to flip through this atlas ( I was looking for a quick reference in view of reviewing
CATs & MRIs with a USMLE slant).The text is system based,the lay-out straightforward (there are CAT sections & numbers filling up anatomic structures).There are few didactic diagrams,image quality on the other hand is good so basically this stimulates the student to get acquainted
swiftly with CATs. Ultrasounds are also good quality ( encouraging for beginners..).Joints pics and angiograms fair (latter not always).Nuclear medicine section a bit "oldy".

I lost this book and bought it a second time because I love it

Great atlas for me starting out my radiology training. High quality images of radiographs, CT, MRI, angio, fluro, and US. Has multiple modalities in many slices, and adult vs child images which is nice. I wish the book wasn't so large, makes it a little hard to fit in my bag.

Very detailed. Useful for my imaging class.

I am using this book for by Image-based Anatomy class and I must say I would not be able to survive the class without it. The picture sequence is very clear and the writer provides appropriate number of images for each scan plane. The information given is accurate. Sometimes, looking at sequences of picture gives you a much better learning experience than looking at a real moving sequence MRI/CT since you actually have a chance to digest information and observe every detail of the picture.

Some cons: I would appreciate a more detailed labeling for the pelvis and the lower limb part. Sometimes, the labeling is inconsistent. I would prefer the author using femoral head through the book instead of switching back and forth between head of femur and femoral head, for example. (I can't recall specific examples right now, but there are such inconsistencies in the book, which is really minor and does not obstruct your understanding at all.)

Overall, a great book that I would recommend to anyone who is studying medical imaging.

My experience with this book, my study methodology and my test results

This is the story of using this book to prepare for the PMP Certification exam and my results.

As a lead up to the PMP certification exam, I took every single practice test in this book, some of them twice.

MY STUDY METHODOLOGY

Here are the steps that you should take to prepare with this book:

Read the PMBOK from cover to cover. Don't flip through it. You need to read every single sentence of it. The practice tests and the PMP certification exam will ask you about the sentence that you think is not important.

Schedule your PMP Certication Exam in at least 30 days in the future.

About 30 days before the PMP certification exam, I made a schedule of which days I would take a practice test. Each scheduled day, I would take one practice test (50 questions) and review the answers. You will want you score to be above 78% on all of the practice tests Keep a record of what you scored on each of the practice tests and knowledge quizzes. The tests become more challenging as you progress through them. This isn't stated in the book, but is my observation and the observation of several other reviewers.

My method of reviewing the answers was to score my practice test (without reading the explanations of the answers) and then read through all of the explanations of the answers to make certain that I knew the material associated with each question. If I encountered a question that I answered incorrectly, then I would try to answer it again. I would then look at the answer and read the explanation for that question. For any answer that I answered incorrectly, I would use the page specified in the answer to re-read the material in the PMBOK. For any questions that I marked for review, I would re-read the material in the PMBOK.

The questions in the book are formatted like the questions in the exam. The questions are setup to make you think the answer you are picking is correct, but you must spend a few seconds thinking about the answer before actually answering. You must read the explanations of the answers carefully to understand why you answered the question correctly / incorrectly. I say "correctly" because if you guess and don't understand why you answered correctly, then that will not help you during the exam.

The weekend before the PMP Certification Exam, I reviewed all of my test scores and began to retake tests that I score poorly on. I also retook the knowledge quizzes (10 questons) in areas that I knew I was weak. I wouldn't let more than 2 days pass between taking practice tests and definitely don't take a break between the practice tests and your PMP certification test.

The book does have typos, grammar mistakes and a few questions (less than 5 in the entire book) that have a mismatched answers. They could do a better job in these areas. Sometimes, the explanations leave you wanting more information on why the answer is correct. But they do specify where you can find more information in the PMBOK. The questions could be more closely aligned to the PMP Exam, but they are close enough.

MY TEST EXPERIENCE

When I took the test, I literally felt that every single question on the test seemed to have 2 or 3 correct answers. This is a similar feeling that the test book tries to setup for you. During the certification exam, I thought I answered each question incorrectly. I had to think of each answer in the way that this test preparation book answered the question. That is why it is important to study the answers of both the correct and incorrect answers on your practice tests.

I thought I didn't pass the exam. During the final hour, I thought "how am I going to take this test again?" Or "how much is the retest fee?"

At the end of the test, you receive your results. The results don't specify your score in terms of the total number of questions you answered correct/incorrectly. The results specify your proficiency (proficient, moderately proficient, below proficient) in the five phases of project management.

I passed. I received "proficient" in all five phases.

Use this book, but really think about how you can use this book to its fullest. Think about your own learning style. Don't just review your wrong answers, review ALL of the answers very deeply. It will help you.

Read the PMBOK. Schedule the certification exam. Use book. Stick to your schedule. Take the certification exam. See you on the other side.

Solid Exam Prep Tool

I took the PMP exam this week and passed on the first attempt. While PMI does not provide the scores, they do tell you if you fall above or below the average in each area. Using an inexpensive online course, PMIs BOK, this book, and my personal experience, I did not fall below average in any area. This book is an excellent study tool, AFTER you develop an understanding of how the 5 process groups, 10 knowledge areas, 47 processes and countless ITTOs all align. It won’t make much sense before you reach that level. It’s important that you understand the reasons behind the answers. The questions seem to get more difficult as you progress. I have taken 22 different professional and technical exams through the years and can tell you that this exam should not be taken lightly. The difficulty level is high and the time is tight, with 200 questions in 240 minutes (4hours). Good luck!

A book from Hell - mistakes mistakes and mistakes.

Explanations makes no sence or not related to questions and this book has tons of mistakes on so many pages. Page 98 Q.8 Answer, author says, the Q is specifically asking for a technique, I do not find neither word specifically nor the word technique in the question. The authors did not understand some concepts. He Took some remote sentences in the PMI bok and made questions. Too many mistakes of all kinds. Page 94 Q.9, the author says total float but the book says free float. Q. 97 does not relate. Page 99 Q.10. Who is Mary in the answer, where is she come from. Page 115 Q1. Project communications plan - is he talking about knowledge area or the process and Project Stakeholder management plan, again what is he talking about - is he talking about project stakeholder management or stakeholder management plan. Do not follow this book. Kudos to Author for passing his PMI exam. I have to stop reading his answers after page 99. Since I spend so much money on that, I continued reading then I found more mistakes. Avoid reading this book man. I found 5 more but no point mentioning. Too too many mistakes.

About the Author
 A.J. (Lonnie) Strickland received a BS in Math and Physics from the University of Georgia, an MS in Industrial Management from Georgia Institute of Technology, and a PhD from Georgia State university. He currently holds the rank of Professor of Strategic Management in the Graduate School of Business at the University of Alabama. He has done extensive consulting and research work. In recent years, he was honored with the Outstanding Professor Award for the Graduate School of Business, and was the recipient of the Outstanding Commitment to Teaching Award for the University of Alabama.

John E. Gamble is currently Associate Dean and Professor of Management in the Mitchell College of Business at the University of South Alabama. His teaching specialty at USA is strategic management and he also conducts a course in strategic management in Germany, which is sponsored by the University of Applied Sciences in Worms. Dr. Gamble's research interests center on strategic issues in entrepreneurial, health care, and manufacturing settings. His work has been published in various scholarly journals and he is the author or co-author of more than 50 case studies published in an assortment of strategic management and strategic marketing texts. He has done consulting on industry and market analysis for clients in a diverse mix of industries. Professor Gamble received his Ph.D. in management from the University of Alabama in 1995. Dr. Gamble also has a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Alabama.
