About the Author
Amy Greenberg (Ph.D., Harvard University) is a professor of American history and women’s studies at Pennsylvania State University. A historian of antebellum America, Dr. Greenberg has focused her research and teaching on the politics, culture and gender history of the era, as well the role of the U.S. in the world. She is the author of Manifest Manhood and the Antebellum American Empire and Cause for Alarm: The Volunteer Fire Department in the Nineteenth-Century City.

Pretty good so far

The amount of primary sources on here are the main chunk of the book. The beginning part of the book is why I wouldn't give it 5 stars. The brief summary of the history of Manifest Destiny in America is a real let down. I was expecting a lot more in terms of information and history on Manifest Destiny but the amount of primary sources more than made up for the disappointment.

OK, Greenberg is full of it and pushes her agenda from cover to cover. The stars are for selling this POS for less than the campus bookstore and getting it to us on time. If you have to buy this, buy it here.

No e-version

It's a history book. Serves it's purpose for class; my biggest beef though is that there's no e-version. It's 2014 (almost 15) - this book was done just a few years ago. It's stupid that there's no option to download immediately... If you really need this book, you better hope that the supplier isn't out of stock.
