Needed to write more about the people around him: but he would have had to be more interested in them. A story of booze and travel, more booze and travel, and a few, too few, glimpses of the people he graced with his company.

An educational whistlestop tour

This book is a breezy, amusing and entertaining account of what it must be like to discover two new experiences ; Worldwide travel and teaching English as a foreign language. You really get a feel for the different emotions and challenges that the writer has to face on his two year journey of self-discovery. It's informative and gives anyone thinking of doing similar a great insight without overloading the reader with too much teacher type jargon. There are some really good descriptions that make you feel like you were walking in the writer's well worn ( and probably cheesy smelling ,by the end of his journey )shoes. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone interested in teaching English as a foreign language or who has a general fidgety disposition and desire to travel the globe. Well done Mr Barry , The Sister would be proud of you even if "Gigi" wouldn't !!
