Review
An amazing book on an exceedingly important subject. I highly recommend it to all single adults.
Gary Chapman, Ph.D., Bestselling Author, The Five Love Languages
… the marriages launched via this teaching have an amazing success rate compared to the national average.
Shaunti Feldhahn, Bestselling Author, For Women Only: What You Need to Know About the Inner Lives of Men and For Men Only: A Straightforward Guide to the Inner Lives of Women
Dan Chun points out that many people spend more time choosing a house than they do choosing a spouse. He brings great Biblical knowledge and personal wisdom and pastoral experience to one of the most important decisions a human being can make.
John Ortberg, Senior Pastor, Menlo Park Presbyterian Church; Author, Who Is This Man?
I wish I could hand this book to anyone who is even semi-seriously dating or single and looking. My friend Dan Chun provides wisdom, experience, truth and humor in reminding us it's better to be single than unhappily married. However, if you follow the principles in this book, you will have much better odds of finding the right spouse and living out a successful marriage. I love this book.

How to Pick a Spouse
By Sonya Jeffords
The first forty minutes of this audiobook sounded like an on-going sales pitch that I didn’t much care to listen to. After that the book started to get better and more informative.
The author covers all of the obvious basics such as looking for character, not having sex outside of marriage, considering cultural differences, and so on. The overarching theme of this book is to take yourself out of what the author calls “the weird zone” (aka having-a-crush type feelings) and step back enough to look at a relationship logically and thoughtfully. Certainly this is an important idea for those looking to marry the “right” person, as crush feelings can blind you from red and yellow flags that this relationship might not be the right relationship for you.
I could be wrong, but my guess is that the sort of person who is going to put enough thought into finding a spouse that they would purchase a book on the matter is going to be the sort of person who has already given a lot of thought to most of the issues brought up in this book. I can’t say there was anything suggested here that I hadn’t already considered when it comes to the prospect of marrying someone. However, it doesn’t hurt to be reminded.
The author seems to be quite fond of internet dating and even offers that if you try all the strategies in his book and it doesn’t work out then he’ll give you a free subscription to eharmony
Audio-wise, this book was pleasant to listen to. The voice was not irritating or dull in my opinion, which is a huge plus for an audiobook.
I received a free copy of this audiobook from christianaudio in exchange for my honest review.

This book is SPOT on!
By Paul White
This book is SPOT on! Sorry for the acronym, but four words came to mind while reading it: Solid (not fluff), Practical (extremely easily applied information), Optimistic (it gives you the sense: "this can work!") and Truth (the info presented is based on years of professional & personal experience and true principles).
I plan to mail my copy to my single 23 y.o. daughter this week, and pray that she will apply the principles and concepts Dan shares.

Helpful Guidance For Courtships
By nzfastbunny
How to Pick a Spouse by Dan Chun is a short but extremely helpful insight into what Christian singles should be looking for in a spouse, pitfalls to avoid as well as helpful advice for those who have had past failures in the form of failed marriages. Drawing on his extensive experience as a successful singles pastor, he presents seven important areas to examine in your future spouse which are the Seven Cs: Character, Chemistry, Competency, Cultural Differences, Commitment, Communication and Core Values.
Added to this is helpful information on the dangers of sex before marriage (a major issue for singles in today's society), the importance of getting Godly wisdom and information from older couples and not rushing into marriage without getting to know the person over the course of a year. There is even a chapter on online dating, which was interesting, as it has always had a stigma attached to it but is very popular today.
Personally I was really pleased to review this book as I am the target audience of the book and would love to find my spouse at some point in the not too distant future. I found the information very helpful and hope to put into practise soon.
The narrator was very good as it was read by the author who knew exactly how he wanted his text to be presented. He also had a clear speaking voice and a steady reading pace, which made listening easy.
This book would be an amazing resource for anyone single looking to find a spouse, anyone divorced looking again or anyone in a relationship leading towards marriage to make sure their partner is right for them. It would also be helpful for parents to read to help out their children.
This audio book was gifted as a part of the christianaudio Reviewers Program in exchange for my unbiased review of this work. More information can be found about this and other Christian audio books at christianaudio.com.
